Thread: Game Time Survey?

I was hoping for a survey that would help identify when TTP members were on the server. I get on at random times, and feel that sometimes the games are a cluster f..k. It's usually because it's filled with non-regulars. Unfortunately, it usually prompts me to leave and come back at a later time. I'm guessing this may be the case with other regulars too. The worst cases are when this causes the regulars to miss each other by a couple of minutes. I realize xfire, which I'm new too, helps avoid this if your logged in. Nevertheless, I feel it would be beneficial for TTP members to know when to expect other TTP members to be on the server. The survey I'm envisioning, should be fairly simple to create. What I'm not sure of is if it would be possible take into account the participant time difference. I'm guessing you'd have to write a new php module. If this is not an option, a list of time zones, and an example of how to apply it, should help. Though there will always be some inaccuracies.

This is what I was thinking.
I/you would have to create a map that made Texas -0 time zone

Formula: Your choice plus/minus the number for your location.
For example: 4 pm - 8 pm, -2(California) = the answer is D

Sunday -

A. 12 am - 4 am
B. 4 am - 8 am
C. 8 am - 12 pm
D. 12 pm - 4 pm
E. 4 pm - 8 pm
F. 8 pm -12 am

Monday -

A. 12 am - 4 am
B. 4 am - 8 am
C. 8 am - 12 pm
D. 12 pm - 4 pm
E. 4 pm - 8 pm
F. 8 pm -12 am

Tuesday - and so on

It would be nice if you where able choose more than one answer for each day. I'm sure someone on your end could make this simple and streamlined. I have a tendency of making things too complicated. If this is something you also see as beneficial, it would be great to see one stickied to all the different game forums. OR, a simple "jakt your on crack" will do too.

Or you could look at the game monitors and trackers on the left side of this page and see when the peak populations are, and I would bet that is when most people are playing.

Yeah that helps, but it doesn't tell me if it's populated mainly with TTP members. I recently checked it, and there were 40 players on one server, not sure how many are from TTP, other than the 3 or 4 clan members from TTP. Don't know if the rest are TTP members, and if the survey were to be made there is no guarantee that it will be accurate. A server could be filled with non-players, at peak survey times, but I guess this would prompt us all to buy a reserved slot.

I agree with you sL!ppy, it won't be a sure thing. It just may motivate me/others to stay on longer and hopefully see other TTP regulars show up. What I'm hoping for is to know when there is a low or no TTP count. I would use those times to read the TTP forums, though I'd check the game monitors and trackers anyways. I just think it would be a nice survey to have, and I'm willing to help the administrators implement the survey, if considered.
