Thread: permission adjustments

I've gone through the dozens and dozens of forum membergroups (clans, reservists, admins, etc) to make sure everyone's permissions are in line. Some groups have powers to upload files, submit articles, and manage such features. Others have more/less moderation or posting abilities.

If you notice anything goofy or things you think you should/n't have....say so.

I also deleted the "TTP User" group......which I'm not sure what purpose even existed. If you're here....you're a TTP user. duh, right?

turns out that removing that group caused some issues. Thanks to a hot tip from a newly registered user.

FYI, there used to be a group called " ". (One space.) I got tired of it confusing me while trying to go through permissions permutations (say that 3 times fast), so I renamed it to TTP User to make it more obvious, since virtually everybody who didn't have a different group assigned was assigned to this group. (This is why almost everybody's ability to change their avatar vanished.)

yup.

I deleted that group, since I wasn't aware of it, or it's need. thought I made adjustments then that would fix it....but tinyportal and SMF don't speak the same groups.

TP says "ungroups members" and SMF says "regular members". And TP doesn't recognize post group permissions, but SMF does.

sigh.

fixed. TTP user is now "TTP registered user". I've cut and pasted the entire member list (or about 96% of it) into that group. homepage and website sticky link if anyone has any issues seeing/using the website.
