JBMC is having intermittent hard times getting to the forums. Here is a tracert he sent me tonight. It appears that he is getting to rackspace's servers, but not to TTP. Any advice I can pass along to him?

Ah, I see it now. With a download of only 600 odd kb/s there's no way you'll get a good ping on the server. If you had closer to 1MB/s then you might get a decent one, but even then...
It also doesn't help that your upload is only about 100 kb/s. Your upload determines how quickly your computer can send info so if it's too low you suffer. For 2142, a 200-300 upload is probably good.

Looks like something's pwning your school's network, hence why everything upstream has higher ping times.
