Something funky's happening at that 8th hop. The ping shouldn't be jumping up that much. If Sprint is your ISP, give them a call. Otherwise get your ISP on their case. It's what I had to do last month to sort out my connection.

These are too the 2142 server. I've been having issues with my connection where it yo-yos between what I pay for and essentially nothing. I was playing 2142 tonight getting ready to fight Frag, when I got kicked for losing packets with my 20 ping... I did still have time to get Ellis's tags again.

I post because alot lag and choke that was steady for ALL users on CS:S server today around 11am to 1230pm CST.

Only things looking funky are the 6th and 7th hops.

I thought it was because of the DNS issues, but I still can't connect to the site from the university's wireless network - any of the wired connections around campus work fine, but the page times out with the wireless. Any suggestions?

SO now what?

Besides the packet losses on 3-6, you have a huge increase in ping at the 13th hop. It could actual be occuring at th 12th one, but that's timed out so it's hard to tell. For the earlier stuff, contact Comcast (I'm assuming that's your ISP) and see what's up. Make sure to talk to them about the tracert.

So this WOULD mean that it is an issue with COMCAST and not with the computer? I have had them ou to my house 4 times within the last week and they say everything is fine. I can get on line but when it comes to game play it loads then says there is a problem with my connection... what about my ethernet card would that be an issue.. Should I check it?

of course it's an issue with your network. Looks like your signal is weak, or getting dropped. Likely, the signal is strong enough to do simple net stuff, but not gaming.

you should also run a bandwidth test. comcast's website should have one, or free ones like this
http://www.bandwidthplace.com/

any decent cable line should be getting 2 or 3 Mbps download, and 300-500Kbps upload, if not more.

But my is averaging around low teen's to mid 20's ping and if every one at the time says I notice I am choking and loosing 1 frame noticeable from in the game for a few mins continous. Don't we think that might be server issue?
