    Reserved slots and 11v10

Currently, the Texas Teamplayers CSS server has a player limit of 22. This would be a logical number were it not for the fact that one slot is always reserved for paying players, resulting in routinely lopsided teams. Changing the limit to 21 or 23 would solve the problem.

I kinda like it how it is, cause css can be so one sided, and I'm not talking specific maps, it's nice to have that one extra on whatever side might actually need the help when trying to balance solely by skill doesn't always work.

There are 2 r-slots. The only times you see 11v10 is when a reservist is joining. The server allows them to join first, then decides which non-reservist to kick out. Then it is back to 10v10.

If you're leaving it up to the players to "do the right thing" and join the losing team, I don't find that to be a reliable method of team balance. The odd player also has the (more likely) option of joining the winning team, making things worse. If an admin is going to be there making sure the odd man joins the losing team for the sake of balance, he could just as easily switch some better players to the losing team.

Ahh, I wasn't aware of that. I guess you'd know better than I would, but are you sure that's how it works? The server almost always has 21 players in it, and I have to wait until it hits 20 before I can join.

for the most part the good players, the real ttp'ers will balance it out as needed, and it's usually the idiot who takes the stacked side cause he sucks at the game that intentionally joins the other side, as I see it, it usually makes balancing a lil easier.

and no, it's actually maxed at 21/22, makin it 10 v 11 with the exception of the very little time it takes a reservist to load in after it kicks someone for that slot, since css takes such a short time to load

Really Civil? I always seem to be playing in a server of 21 people and hardly ever get a server with 20 (it only happens when a server is just filling up or someone just left). I have also seen it be filled to 22 for 5+ minutes before... If that is how the system is supposed to work, I haven't seen it do its full purpose yet... :2

man, that would be genius....except of course that we have 2 slots reserved, so multiple people can connect at once, and not clog the line with 1.
