Thread: shout box

I don't know if it's possible but a site I used to be a part of had a shout box. It gave the time and name of the person and there short message. People could post small bits of info without creating a new topic. For instance a funny video on youtube, someone could post the link. Or a message like "hey get in the server I'm bored" Just a thought not sure if it's possible.

How so? A better explenation please....I personally think its a great idea...Cuts down on clutter, and It might bring more activity into the forums, as well as interaction between players of different games..I.E. im a CS player, and really dont socialize with the DoD and BF 2/2142 players...this would be an easy way to talk about off topic subjects and non sense that otherwise clutters the forums...

What kind of image would this portray on TTP? We are a COMMUNITY right? How does another form of communication deter our image?

I'd be more interested in a flash chat, or realtime chat program for registered users.

you could do TTP Singles chat, for all those bachelors out there.
