Back when this game was accually worth playing imo Because you HAD to be good to get good gear. Now its your ARE good because you have good gear.
And note. I help my Grand Marshal title for 4 weeks. Longer then anyone else on my server.

Re: World of Warcraft
Not necessarily. Most people that made rank 14 didn't even spend the entire time playing the toon themselves... they had friends and family play it for them while they were at school/work/whatever so that they'd be making honor as often as possible.
Plenty of people that made rank 12-14 that weren't any good... just obsessed.
Arena rating is the closest metric to judging how good a person is at the game, but even that's flawed due to certain team compositions just dominating. In season five, it was Holy Paladin/Unholy Death Knight... this season, it's looking like it's gonna be Rogue/Discipline Priest. Mage/Rogue/Priest is dominating 3's as per usual.

haha yeh, i have been playing since a month after the game first came out. i still play the game, played it last night. and i love the game. but this conversation does not appeal to me.
all i see is people either talking about how uber they are, or how much they got nerfed.
regardless look at the data. 14 million people playing the game says to blizzard that they are doing something right. therefore you cant complain too much. caus admit, the game is fuckin fun. we all played the shit out of it. and im sure most of us are going to keep playing. if they didnt change it up every now and again then the game would get old. they have made many significant changes throughout the years and you have to expect some hiccups.

Re: World of Warcraft
Blizzard isn't doing any worse than Valve is with TF2 these days. Both companies are still rock solid, even if they do make more fuckups now than they did ten years ago.
WoW is still fun, but they really screwed up a lot of things with WotLK, and it's got a lot of people upset. The ones that really got upset left. The majority of the remainder play it and are happy. Then you've got that small, vocal minority that insists on bitching and moaning about every little bitty problem and crucifies Blizzard for their every mistake, and they often try to castrate their fellow gamers in the process.
The funniest thing in WoW right now is to visit the official forums and flip through a few dozen posts in the Damage Dealing and Healing sections and see how vitriolic people are to each other. You'd think that a guy that plays a priest sees a guy that plays a paladin on the street and they end up fighting to the death because of mana burn or divine plea. It's silly.

Re: World of Warcraft
I just made champion in the argent tournament today and I swear that once you hit champion rank Blizzard might as well let you coin your own money with how much cash that place starts throwing at you. You get 23g per champion-level quest (there are four of them per day) and then you get the usual 13g per quest for the valiant-level quests which you can begin doing for a different city. I made over 350g in less than an hour as a Holy paladin doing those dailies and regular Icecrown dailies in the same areas. When you consider how much gold per day you could be raking in from that stuff, you kinda want to go smack anyone that complains about things costing too much.

Re: World of Warcraft
Icecrown becomes just basically one giant daily-quest orgy. Roughly 70% of the quests you do for your faction unlock repeatable, daily versions of the same, and then you've got the tournament on top of it all. I usually do my tournament dailies, a few random Icecrown dailies, the Wintergrasp dailies, the Battleground daily (unless it's AB because Horde on my battlegroup cannot fucking win AB to save their lives), and then usually some Frenzyheart stuff and by that point I've gotten bored and end up doing something else or playing a different game for a while.
