You can enjoy it a lot sooner if you have a group of fun people to hang out with like Onyx, and you can join the TTP chat channel to shoot the breeze with the guys who have been playing for a while like Summon, Ranger, and Cop.

Agree with White on this one. I've not been playing nearly that long yet (2-3 months) and I enjoy it quite a bit. I find that it is a great change of pace from the FPS love (2142) yet still keeps a firm reliance on strategy and tactics (and teamwork).

But that's not because of what they have on their ships, that's because they know what they're doing.
If you against someone in CS with 3 years of experiance, they'll rape you too.
There isn't that big of a difference.
