Did anyone play this father of MMOs before it went casual like most MMOs today?

I loved the fact that you could do anything you wanted and there were no "safe zones." It was the most hardcore MMO I've ever played. It has since been dulled down to include rules that take out all of the risk.

I played from 98 till sometime in 2000. I was only like 13 at the time but I still regard it as my favorite gaming experience. The freedom was uncanny and you weren't tied down to an item hunt like modern MMOs.

I had an archer (named RobinHood) and played the factions for a bit. I was ranked 2nd in the True Britts for a little while. Stopped playing a few months after trammel was implemented.

Same here, Quellious server. Wish Sony would make that game free to play up to Planes expansion....

With my gnome I wanted something different, in the end I think half the server knew me because I had a master crafter in tinkering and my gnome was decked out with mana battery items where I could cast my own buffs on myself. He wasn't the best front line fighter, but he added something different to raids and as far as I know was the only gnome paladin with his epic.

Haha.....PKer's or Reds..we used to call them. I played on Catskills for 3 years. Then I stopped playing and lost everything. Had a cool house and 2 mil gold from my GM T-Hunter.

Fun game..dull AI though. When they introduced the noobie zone....it got very bad in the regular zone Fulusha? I cant remember the name right now...

Does this game still exsist? I remember at one time you could down load your own server and play in the word all by yourself....that was kinda fun for a couple of hours. Boring after a day or so.
