A new MMORPG being worked on right now that they may be interesting, sounds kind of cool imo from the newsletter i got. Hoping to be one of the people to win beta access to get a chance to check this out when they start releasing the betas.

from the newsletter:
Featuring a unique modern-day setting, The Secret World allows you to explore real world locations such as New York, London, Seoul, New England and Egypt as you battle evil together with thousands of others from all around the globe. Wield shotguns and black magic as you develop your character in a game that has neither levels nor classes.

from what i'm reading on the website it sounds like the idea is much customability. You can choose what to wear, weapons to wield, how you will look etc. etc.
Supposedly you'll be able to train in things like martial arts, voodoo, black magic (and hopefully others).
I hope it turns out to be good, and not another flop as it seems pretty intriguing to say the least.

Saw something about it in a PCG a few months back.
I just got an email about this too. Looking forward to how it'll pan out. No classes or levels intrigues me as that means there will likely be skills and you wont be tied down to some predetermined tree.

Haha, it's been a long time since I played those games. I just remember you leveled by using skills (you could use any skill at any time since there weren't any set classes, and use of those skills was how you leveled up) and since one of them was tied to running and another was tied to jumping, you'd make those primary skills and just bunnyhop-sprint everywhere to level.

So apparently its coming out this June (just saw the per-order) on Amazon, anyone heard any new information about the game? I haven't really been following as the game requires money.
By the way, I will smack anyone who says they per-ordered it, everything I've heard is about Funcom having terrible releases, bugs, etc. for a bit before things get decent. Basically the MMORPG version of Paradox Interactive.

I've followed the developers track records and have been pretty impressed with them so far. It's an allstar team and none of the lead positions are from vanilla AoC.
They've also stated that the store will be only for things like cosmetics and short term boosts like xp gain. They don't want anything to be pay to win.
