Thread: World of Tanks

I lied about the M5 stewart. It's fun to use. That 75mm howitzer is just *awesome* at killing artillery and other scout tanks. And I forked over some gold for HEAT rounds, and they are just rapesauce.

I'm in the beta for this puppy now, but I have to say it is pretty lame starting out. I don't care for the getting one-shot and then waiting around for so long. I assume that gets better with more pewpew?

Yeah, get past the first few tanks and things start getting waaaaay better.

I would also recommend on the first tanks choosing HE shells instead of AP. They do slightly more damage and against the really thin armor the decreased penetration dosen't matter.

Also, in a battle, when you die just exit the battle. You don't have to sit around waiting and you still get the same xp and money.

Yeah, that's a neat feature, especially early when it doesn't matter what failtank you're driving. You can hop into another game with another tank. I imagine that won't be as fun mid-game when you're trying to level/research a specific tree more. Is there anything preventing you from having two of the same tank?

Yeah, you can only have one of each tank. It's generally good to have a tank of either two trees (like a TD/SPG and a regular tank) or two "equal" tanks of different nations (like the A-20 and Leopard for instance)

also, getting an Tier 2/3 "elite tank" can be a great way to farm Experience (which you can convert for some gold so you can spend it on any tank) and credits. Tank Destroyers work great because they're pretty overpowered at low levels. Just load an AT-1 with HE shells and enjoy one shotting anything.

So.... should I go for the T1 Heavy or the Sherman? I almost have enough points for one or the other but I can't decide...
