Do you mean the M5? I think the M7 is a medium tank....
But a fully upgraded leopard with a smart player is a force to be reckoned with. A good scout tank can light up a cluster of enemies for the arty, maybe dump an HE round or two into enemy SPGs, and get out before they get knocked out.
Granted, scout tanks need a BIG increase in the XP/Credits they get for spotting, it's abysmal right now. And they really need a sight range boost as well, since alot of tank destroyers and heavy tanks have longer sight ranges and can see you coming.

Oh hell, the M7 is technically a medium (with a 60kph top speed). Well there goes my entire point :P

The M5 has a 75mm howitzer too....the M5 is just slow for a scout tank. (58 km/h!) It's not as effective overall as the A-20 with the 76mm firing HE shells though.
Also, the Hetzer sucks.

Trying to scratch past the third tier, and i hear the 4th gets even worse...urrrh.

Also has anyone else noticed that you get 100 gold every day? Is that supposed to happen? Because technically at 100gold/day you can buy the highest premium account for 2500, and after 30 days buy another 2500 and still have 500 gold left over for XP conversion or an extra 200,000 credits. Seems kinda weird that the p2p money is basically free? Kinda weird.

This is the beta, they are giving all the players a gold allowance per day. When the full release comes out, you can bet it won't have that in it.

Also, been looking at the stats for the American Heavy tanks, and they look atrocious. The American Tier 10 is just BAD.

I've got the T1 Heavy and it makes me so sad... It's a boat with a slow speed and even slower turning. It's gun is horrible and can't scratch any other heavy tank and most of the mediums go untouched also. It does have a fair amount of HP and decent armor so it can survive hits but still....

Let me just add, that even with upgraded tracks and turret, the T1 is still a shitty tank. It wouldn't' be bad if the matchmaking would decide to put it in the correct bracket. Half the time it gets it right and you are up against mediums and lights and one opposing heavy. Then you have a chance at doing some damage as long as you are smart. The other half it throws you in with Tiger IIs and IS7s and you get royally screwed.

The matchmaking is simply awful. I was playing in my Hetzer, and every single battle I was bottom of the team, unless there was like an M5 Stewart or something. At least in my Leopard I can scout and do anti-arty work, and I kinda understand why it gets put into high tier battles. But a Hetzer? That's not going to scratch the paint on anything bigger than a KV.

Yeah, there are some rumors on the forums that they are going to be messing with the matchmaking system to make it more fair. But the two tanks that constantly get matched against tanks that waaaaaay out class them are the T1 Heavy and the Hetzer.

But man... slog through the Hetzer and get the StugIII.... that thing is just sex on treads.

I am much much more enjoying life now I've switched to TD's. AT-1 is awesome once upgraded, and the SU isn't bad either. 85b apparently is pretty sucky, but still, suits my playstyle way more.
