Re: World of Tanks
5% of your total XP earned from every battle goes into the "Free XP" pool.
There are ways to convert Gold into "Free XP" from your regular XP, just do it carefully, so as not to deplete XP needed to research a current tank.
Best way, find unused XP on tanks you are no longer using or own, and convert that into FXP. This is easiar to do if you have "Elited" the tank. Elite tanks are made by researching all items on a particular tanks tech tree, and I mean everything.
Eliting also give a small bonus % of XP for every battle that tank does. And it unlocks unused XP for conversion.
If you no longer own the tank, and you didn't Elite it, you can always buy it again, convert the XP, then resell it. You will lose credits in the deal, but you get those back fast enough.
If you need credits, best place to look is in your "Depot". Just click on the "Not compatible with my vehicles" box and sell everything you know you'll not need again. Be sure you don't sell anything that can be used on a future purchase, radios and ammo come to mind. But sometimes the guns may be useful, as some carry forward on several models.

Re: World of Tanks
I just started playing this game yesterday and I have a quick question.
How do I spot enemy tanks for XP? I've looked on the WoT forums but all I see there is how the spotting system is broken.
Also, my very first tank kill was on a person named Allane. I was hoping this was Allane from TPG so I could rub his nose in it...

Re: World of Tanks
Spotting is done automatically, you don't have to hit a button like in the BF games. If you can see the enemy tank is dependent on a lot of things like their movment speed, if they fired, type and size of enemy tank, their crew's skills and if they have bought a camo net or not. If the game determines you can see them, which is based on your crew's skills and the view range of your turret then the enemy tank will appear as visable to you and your team.
Also, I would highly recommend getting camo nets for anyone using SPGs or AT guns, it makes a fairly large difference and unlike all of the other modules you can remove it ans swap it to another tank.

I disagree, the German PZ38H7 is really good for its Tier. It's Tier 2 so you'll more likely than not end up against Ms-1's and Loltraktors, and it has higher armor than any other Tier Two, I'm not entirely sure about it's gun yet, but it can't be any worse than the other German 2cm piss cannons.

Re: World of Tanks
For those who are having platoon invite issues - there is a workaround on the forums.
Have the person inviting be in a US timezone (on their desktop, not in game, if there is such a setting), and have the people being invited change their timezone to anything GMT+ (Russia worked for me, ymmv). This should solve it.
