Re: World of Tanks
I saw you on my team the other night Ruukil, too late to say anything to you though.
A few extra game pointers: 1) At this late date of the CBT the Arty tech tree would be your best route for fast XP and points.
2) Save up your gold and get the Premium for 30 days (don't worry the CBT will run thru the end of the year) this will give another 50% XP and points per round. 3) Sell off unused equipment and vehicles in your Depot BUT! make sure what you sell cannot be used on your next vehicle AND! do not sell vehicles with your trained crew still in them! 4) Making a squad is pretty easy, look at the TAB under the "Battle" button (Center top of your screen), and invite people in. Squads are limited to 3 per, and there is no garantee all squads will be on same team. 5) Auto-Balance works better on the low end of the tech tree, but is sortof unreliable at the Tech 4+ levels. This is supposedly going to be patched very soon. This means, for the time being; you could find your Tech 4 tank in with a lot of Tech 7+.
6) For now there is some lag warping occurring with the faster tanks, just use "Auto-Aim" (right-click on target) to compensate. This will go away before the game launches for real, because they're going to have a different game engine by then. 7) Scouting is the most fun you will have for the 5 seconds your light tank goes "POP" but you will rack in points for discovering enemy positions for the arty. 8 ) (Last one) You don't have to sit in your dead tank waiting for the game to end, simply exit out, jump into another tank, and go into another battle. Unless you like watching others play, or just want to see what awards you got from the round.
This is a fun game, and it's better with TS and a good group of people to play with/against.Last edited by RagunCajun; 10-11-10 at 03:15 PM.

Re: World of Tanks
From everything I can tell, the Devs of this game are really paying attention to the players... that make good suggestions. This game combines a lot of different game skills like FPS, RTS, and RPG, and will require good team play skills to be any good.
I play with a good group of people called "Armoured Assasins", comprised of European, American, and a mixed bag of other players from around the world.
The game is FREE, and will always be so, you just pay for premium upgrades, which you may or may not need. Once it goes prime time you can probably expect most of the best players will form into clans and play on invitation matches more than the open battles. I don't know all the details on that yet.
One other thing about the pay to play part: you cannot be a new player and simply buy a top tier tank, you have to have the time in game to level to that point first. This means you won't find yourself busting your ass to grind levels, and have some dumbass buy a top tank to learn the game in. Believe me, it gets very serious in the upper levels, your failure not only gets your tank popped, but probably your teammates as well... very expensive fail.Last edited by RagunCajun; 10-11-10 at 03:31 PM.

Re: World of Tanks
HINT: If your gunner is constantly saying "looks like that one punched right through" that isn't a good thing. If your shell goes straight through their armor and out the other side it dosen't do very much damage (unless you hit them in the engine or one of the crew). Consider switching to HE shells if you can rather then AP.
(and yes, the shell that goes through the enemy tank can still do damage, as I found when I nailed an ally on the other side of an enemy tank with a AP shot)Last edited by Arreo; 10-11-10 at 05:14 PM.
