Re: World of Tanks
Yea, I feel sorry for you poor bastards having to fight GVN on Ruinburg almost every day,. I remember the first time they pulled that 6 maus defense strat and it took us like 4 days to crack it and drive them out of Europe, good riddance to them and good luck to you guys.
Also, on the IS-4 topic, sometimes my clan will run them in preference to an IS-7 for certain spots in certain maps, the two biggest examples being the middle road in Abbey that goes through the town, and the small hill in the middle of Cliffs. The IS-4 has amazing depression and sticking them in these spots renders them nigh invulnerable to all but the luckiest arty shots. Still, we will only run one in any given battle. The IS-4 does have stronger rear and side armor, but its negligible when 80% of the enemy team is using a T10 gun and probably using gold ammo on top of that. Our clan usually runs 2-3 Maus'/E-100s, 4-5 T30s, 1 Patton, 1 T54, 1 E-50, 2 T8 arty, and fill any remaining slots out with IS-7s or specialty(IS-4, TDs, etc.) tanks.Last edited by AtillatheBum; 08-22-11 at 04:09 AM.

Well, now that I have the Patton and have begun the slow, slow grind to getting it kitted out, I've decided to start going up the German Medium tree to try and get the Panther II. The Panther II is a better Pershing in every way: similar gun depression, better hull and turret armor, faster, has a better 88mm gun, etc.

Re: World of Tanks
Which clan are you in?
And yes, GvN has been like a brick wall that we've been beating our head against. But at least they are honest about it. Unlike the SA crowd that are just in it for the gold.
In my opinion, I'd say WkA has done a remarkable job of surviving when so many clans are so determined to remove us from the map. If we had the wall of armor that most of our opponents throw at us, we'd be unstoppable. Too bad we can't get the respect of other clans because a few bad apples in WkA can't keep their mouths shut.Last edited by RagunCajun; 08-22-11 at 04:15 PM.

Not so fast Allane... After that last patch the Panther II was severely nerfed, primarily in the gun. It's sluggish and slow too. Worse yet, you will usually find yourself against T-54's that can NOW kick the shit outta you.
I sold my Panther, and will soon dispose of my Panther II. The E-50 is the way to go.

The Pershing finds itself against T-54s that can SERIOUSLY wreck its day. The Panther II can at least fight back with a gun that shoots faster and penetrates more often.
I still have to get out of the Ausf. A (Apparently its suspension wasn't designed to let the tank turn).
Hrm. I can't get any performance out of the Ausf A (~66 XP per battle). If I can somehow get some Gold, I'll resume my work on the German line.Last edited by Allane; 08-22-11 at 05:05 PM.

Re: World of Tanks
Ironically, I'm with Marder She Wrote, AKA SA; no hard feelings though cause what you said is pretty much true. I personally don't play as much anymore cause we hardly fight anyone worth the time, but lately we have been getting some organized matches/tournaments with MLP and the rest of the alliance which is getting me back in it.

Agreed. However, I believe the T-95 is destined to failure. Reason being that players are discovering it's weaknesses, and are exploiting them more often.
Too bad the JT couldn't be the contender it was supposed to be. Despite excellent frontal armor, it has too many weak spots, and a gun that gets destroyed by a sneeze in it's direction.
I look forward to the next generation of German TD's.

Re: World of Tanks
MSW is no slouchy clan either. I believe that clans get lazy when they don't get tested. Practice skirmishes are okay as a training tool, but, if there is nothing on the line; like a province for example; players don't take it as seriously imo.
We're fighting every night, sometimes several battles a night, against one clan or another, and we improve our strategy each time. We don't always win, but we don't always lose either. No matter what though, we are getting better at the game, even though we are not getting richer from it.
Unfortunately, some people would rather play the politics than play the battles. The gold means nothing, if you have nothing to use it for. And all the tanks in the game won't benefit a clan that doesn't have players skilled enough to use them.
