Re: Russian Tank Tree
The KV is the most fun I've had in a tank in a while. I used the 122mm gun and I just got the 107mm today, and it's a fucking beast gun. It one shots anything under T5 and severly damages T5/T6 on some tanks. The 152mm I haven't tried, but it is basically a one shot of almost anything at that tier, but you die if you miss lol...
Me: "But the Gunslinger is so much more fun..."
Langrad: "We're here to win, not to..."
Me: "Have fun?" "Hahaha"

Re: Russian Tank Tree
Actually the T-43 has slightly less armor than the T-34-85, but has more hit points. It uses the same gun, and fully upgraded it has about the same speed.
For whatever reason though, the T-43 seems to withstand hits from larger tanks better than the T-34-85 (I have both, and have compared).
If you think the KV is slow, wait till you get into the KV-3. by comparison the KV is a drag racer. However, the KV-3 is Killa Magilla especially with it's largest gun upgrade.
Life with the KV-3 will be short for me, as I intend to move into the IS as soon as possible.Last edited by RagunCajun; 01-04-11 at 08:42 AM.

Re: Russian Tank Tree
Actually, I really liked the t-28 with the upgraded gun. Its armor is like paper and you seem to get tracked quite a bit because it's built like a brick, but you've got pretty good maneuverability for its class and you can actually start hurting the big boys. Play smart and play back a bit, which is against what most of the Russian line seems to favor(close range slugfests) and you'll do pretty well with it.
The KV is a beast....find some rocks or buildings to hide behind with the 152mm, and let the lolz roll in.
I just finished my grind to the S-51....you can eat a sandwich in the time it takes to load, but it aims pretty quick and when it hits, even a Maus will feel it.

Re: Russian Tank Tree
With the KV I tend to keep it rolling forward if I am near the top of the list as far as what is on both teams, if not then I find a group of heavies to help out.
With any Russian tanks once you get to the KV and greater you should get the reduced speed governor. It is only 3,000 credits and boosts your engine so you get up to speed faster. You toggle it on and off when needed and if you forget and leave it on you can damage your engine. I use it when I need to run at something or when I'm crossing a lot of ground so that I can get up to top speed faster.
If you want speed go from KV to KV-1S, if you want armor and no speed go from KV to KV-3. Both of those lines lead to the IS regardless.

Re: Russian Tank Tree
My KV-3 does it's best work as a long range sniper. Up close and personal with anything the same tier or higher is a death sentence.
It's just too slow, and the turret traverse can't keep up with swifter tanks like the T-44. But, it does have the REALLY BIG GUN! a 122 mm monster. It only puts out about 4.3 rounds per minute, but when it hits, it hits hard

Re: Russian Tank Tree
Just got my Su-100. I"m really liking it so far. Stock it is basically an fully upgraded Su-85 with double the HP and armor. And once you start getting upgraded guns (very expensive xp wise) you start to have ridiculous damage and penetration.
I'm very pleased with the Russian AT line (with the exception of the Su-85B and its cardboard armor).

Re: Russian Tank Tree
Imma go for the kv3 because I can't bear to lose the 107mm. Amazing gun and when you are matched against anything t7 and lower you'll do a decent chunk if damage (select tanks of course). It's the best gun, the cream of the crop ect. of the KV line.
