Re: Russian Tank Tree
It's not "plain better". The 107 has a better RoF (7 vs 4), but has less penetration (167 vs 175) and less damage (300 vs 390). If all your shots penetrate with the 107mm, you will do more damage over time, no question, but if an extra 8 penetration or 90 damage is enough to finish off the tank you're facing, you'll have no need to fire again and let him/her possibly fire at you again.
To give you a real world example, the 107mm has a 95% chance to go through the front hull armour of the KV-3 with AP ammo. The 122mm has a 100% chance to go through with AP ammo.
Which are you going to want when a KV-3 comes around the corner towards you?

Re: Russian Tank Tree
Yeah I read up on it, and the 107mm is faster rate of fire and the shells cost MUCH MUCH less, so you make much more money, faster. I'll probably stick with the 107 and go for the KV-3 because it's got more hp, more armor and can use the 107. If I wanted speed I'd go use my leopard, it's not like KV's were designed to be agile =D

Re: Russian Tank Tree
SU-85 - When upgrdaded, is a great sniper and sneaky tank. It almost always takes damage at the slightest angle from the front
SU-100 - Really powerful guns.Get a spall liner ASA. It will save you. And invest in an even split of AP and HE. Most rounds you land in will have tanks you can't even hope to scratch. Whenever you've been seen, change your entire plan. You will be fucked if you can be predicted, you lack proper armor to deal with most other kinds tanks one on one.

Re: Russian Tank Tree
It's a fun gun. The shells cost a LOT though. When I first resupplyed to get my ammo it took 25k Silver to do so. But, you know, with HE it does 900 damage, so you can't really beat that in a T5 match. Unfortunately, it's also pretty damn innaccurate. I'd reccomend saving up for the 107mm and using that. It's a massive beast of a gun, and makes the KV supremmely enjoyable.
