Upcoming MMO 2011!
So it's spring, and we have a ton of choices in pay to play MMO and free play MMO. The question is what do you see yourself settling into, and why? I'll highlight some of the big ones, and if you have something I haven't touched on feel free share.
Star Wars: The Old Republic

Footnotes:
* Continent of the Ninth is a Korean MMO free 2 Play w/out any IP restrictions. It's currently available now. With a English translated version coming late 2011 (rumored). The site linked is an English fan site.

Only if you have no self control.
SWTOR, TERA, and GW2 look to be promising games for their own reasons. Can't play them all though so I'll probably try to get into their betas and see which one I like best.
I'd also look into Blade and Soul as the videos that Toker posted before make that look pretty bad ass too.

Having no self control nothing to do with it.
MMORPGS are time consuming games. If you truly wish to make any real progress in the game you end dedicating about 12 to 24 hours a week which is almost like having a part time job.

That is total bullshit. You can play a few hours a day or even just on the weekends, whatever, and do just fine. You won't advance as quickly as others but you can still progress easily enough.
I don't deny that they can be time consuming, but you don't have to do anything. Just commit as much time as you are willing to like any other game. Screw everyone else.

Re: Upcoming MMO 2011!
So show me how an online non-mmo game is any less addictive? "Real progress" is defined by you, not the game nor the hours put into it. Folks on this site spend probably as much average time in the games tpg hosts as folks do in MMOs. Its like comparing an alcoholic (your WoW movie) to a casual drinker (normal players).
Just because it sucked your time up and made you an addict doesn't mean the game is at fault. Just like an alcoholic isn't one because there are bars.
SWTOR might be neat but I read they pushed the release date back to probably sometime this fall.
Firefall looks neat, hopefully it has a lot of content.
Some others... oh and these are all F2P (free to play)
World of Tanks - April
Forsaken World - Just released
Black Prophecy - Released in Europe, Open beta NA soon
