    Impressions of SWTOR

My rating right now: 7 / 10 for games in general, 8.5 / 10 for MMO genre

The game plays like Fable meets World of Warcraft in a Star Wars settings. It has a very good story based element that makes leveling up pretty enjoyable, but I rank it lower because I'm pretty sure, at the end of the leveling road, you're still going to be in the end game grind.

People in the general chat bitched soo much about people making wow comparisons, but it's unavoidable. SWTOR took too many things out of WoW's books. I am afraid that the game will get repetitive like WoW did. The game doesn't have some of the bell and whistles that 6 years of constant improvement allowed WoW to develop, but it's already in a better spot than WoW was when it was released.

Summary: Even if you don't stick around for a month to month, playing a little bit to get a toon up and enjoy the story lines is definitely worth it.

Your opinions? I'm especially interested if anyone has any insight to end game.

A little dissapointed in only 8 classes 4 on each side with AC for each. But the world detail, rich game content and the large multi group operations will keep me interested I feel.

There is a lot of uniqueness left to be desired IMHO with the character build, same companions for everyone in your class and lack of weapon/armor creativity. People want to feel their characters are like no one elses - this game IMHO somewhat falls short in this area but does have some nice qualities about it. However I did find myself bored in some areas of the game. I would at this point give it an overall 6/10.

For the like 2 hours I managed to play the beta at Manse's house last weekend it seemed like it will be entertaining. I'm interested in seeing the crafting system first hand as well as how the end game content will work...who knows maybe ill actually do some pvp.

Technically it's 8 classes per side with AC's, just saying. Also, i'm sorry to hear you didn't feel like a unique snowflake, but with the story and my hands on some crafted shit with mod slots I didn't look or feel like any other character I saw.

Initial gameplay gave me a sense of 7/10 overall, but that's only with sub level 20 stuff that I experienced. My primary beef was with issues that will probably be resolved once I get my machine up to snuff or launch comes to fix the ui bugs, I had no issues with character conception or story.

PLEASE tell me they are going microtransactions instead of month to month? I enjoyed playing WoW (upto lvl 15-20 on a friends account) and doing some raids on ANOTHER friends lvl 30 shaman. But I really dislike the month to month subscription fee.... Whats WoW at? 10? 15?

Micro-transactions fucking suck. I hate that shit. I'd much rather just pay a monthly fee and have the WHOLE game open to me.

Nono I meant micro transactions like TF2 does it, you can buy stuff with real money while it dosnt effect the balance of the game. I think EVE online has some of it going as well? Visual stuff for your character... Same price as WoW per month?
