On top of what the judge said, there are alot of people that will buy whatever they download afterwards(assuming they like it). I know people that refuse to buy new games until after they've played the "cracked" version. Most companies don't put out demos anymore so they can't go that route. Same goes for albums...They'll download a cd to see if theres anything worth a damn other than the 1 song and if so, they'll buy it on Itunes or w.e.

It's not as cut and dry as those companies try to make it.

Why should they listen to the people, when companies will pay them millions of dollars (and millions more once they get out of office). And with those dollars, they run ads that get the people to vote for them, and get elected. Basically:

Companies pay elected officials lots of money. Joe Average does not
Joe Average is an idiot and votes for someone because he knows their name, or a bunch of ads ran from all that company money.
Elected official gets to keep job, ignore Joe Average, and net more money from companies.

And Red's synopsis is pretty damn accurate.

Why would you announce who your going to hack? Do these guys know they arent the only hackers in the world? Precisely why they keep getting arrested. The government works like 7-11. Hire a crook to catch a crook.

Anonymous doesn't actually hack, they're script kiddies who use per made programs to DDoS a website.

I think people are forgetting what true hacking actually is these days.

Reminds me of those dumb people on Facebook who get on someones profile after they forget to log out and say "OMG I HACKED YOU XOXOX <3 SHANIQUA"

Anonmyous is a mob made up of several levels of skill. To say they don't hack is to show you don't understand what anonymous is. Yes there are several script kiddies using pre made scripts to ddos websites. There are also anonymous members who legitmately hack and steal information from companies and then publish them. Think church of scientology and other leaked documents from different organizational. Also remember that lulzsec was formerly a part of anonymous.
