At the beginning, nearly all deny the accusations. Most say they are threatened; some report physical violence. Verbal abuse – "You're a dog, a son of a whore" – is common. Many are exhausted from sleep deprivation. Day after day they are fettered to the chair, then returned to solitary confinement. In the end, many sign confessions that they later say were coerced.

As for the refusal to allow the minor to meet with his attorney, the judge ruled that, “from the moment that the interrogation began and it became clear that the defendant was providing valuable information on the involvement of many other persons, the decision to prevent the meeting with the attorney for several hours cannot be viewed as patently unreasonable.”

If the person is past puberty, they are an adult or young adult. Only pre-pubescent persons should be referred to as children.

And after reading the article and viewing the photo, it's obvious that these are young men here.

I would somewhat agree with you there, but that's no excuse for torture.

None of our business to begin with. Plenty of other countries do not operate as we do.

I think it is our business, how much money do we give them in foreign aid?

Unless that aid has demands that must be meet then it isnt our business. If we wish to go down that road then we need to speak to about every country. Very few do things like we do it and we can find plenty of room for growth at our end as well. Throwing stones at windows and such.

I agree with you there, I also agree that it is our business as long as they are recipients of our funds. Especially if those funds are earmarked for the very organization (military) that is committing the torture.
