Thread: Driving and Cannabis - Not so safe after all (queue common sense arguments)

Ive seen people that tried marijuana and dont like it. Ive tried drinking and like it. I have no idea how anyone could drive correctly under the influence of either one of them. Its simply insane how much both of them impair your senses.

02-13-12, 04:18 PM #14I've never had any problems on any of the antidepressants I've been. My mom was in a major accident since she started but that's because she's a pretty bad driver Imho.
Sent from my Kindle Fire using Tapatalkenf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

Can we just please keep the bong at home, up next to the Dewars?
I'm all-for both, but most people can't drive when that is all they are doing.....never mind talking on the phone(regardless of hand position), texting, sleeping, drinking, or twisting one up while behind the wheel. Hell, half of the drivers out there shouldn't be on the road in the first place. I live in a state that has decided that it is in all of our best interests to give the license test in 11 languages, and that diversity of drivers is more important than quality of drivers. I worry more about that than I do about people DUI.

Limitations...
We found considerable heterogeneity across the studies in our review (I2=81%). We used a random effects model after postulating a priori that our populations would be heterogeneous, because of varying data sources and the differing methods used to measure tetrahydrocannabinol concentrations. Although we defined high quality studies as those that scored full marks on the Newcastle-Ottawa scale, many of these high and medium quality studies probably did not control for all possible confounders. Although we restricted positive cannabis results to drivers that showed the presence of tetrahydrocannabinol in the absence of other drugs or alcohol, other potentially important confounders were probably not controlled for. These hidden confounders, as well as the differing study designs used, might have affected the results of the individual studies and hence the estimates of the pooled odds ratios.

Selected data would produce selected results. In the Second Paragraph in ^ the previously published article goes on to say that there are many studies that suggest the Opposite that occurred here.
I would say that this doesn't prove much but more or less hints at the fact that MOAR research in this area is needed.Last edited by SmokenScion; 02-13-12 at 07:12 PM.

Driving while intoxicated on anything is bad, regardless of legality. It's a good thing that they don't let people drive home after being put under anesthesia, too.
