Re: Why are the Republican Candidates Trying to Out Jesus Each Other?
Now is the time for the green party to get 5% of the vote and become an official party. It looks like the republicans cant sound smart for more then a few days before the derpiness bubbles to the surface. Anyone else find it funny how they change their stance/act for the different states depending on the group of voters they want?

Lol, so true. Romney will never win Michigan in a general election, though. He says this is his "home state," but he doesn't have a house here, and he has a lot of houses, he was the governor of Massachusetts, and he opposed the bailout. The bailout has massive support here in state. He's toast.

Awesome. Gotta love The Onion.
I wonder though, as this crop becomes ever more clown-like, is there still time for a dark horse?
Technically, nothing is decided until after the convention, right? There are obviously states where a new candidate couldn't get on the primary ballot, but most of the states are still left. As long as a late entry could make a reasonable showing in some of the remaining primaries, couldn't they win it at the convention? Advertising would be a no-brainer. All the new guy (woman?) would have to do would be to stand up in front of a still-frame from any of the repub debates and say "Enough. They obviously don't have it. I'm your guy."
I ask because the old-school Republican establishment must be absolutely shitting themselves right now (unless they've already decided to concede the next four years). Romney would have made a decent puppet, but he can't seem to actually become the front-runner. At this point he's totally debased himself and stinks of desperation. I've never seen anyone look less authentic and scared that they might actually be seen as themselves. It's pathetic.
Honest to Christ - I have been disappointed with conservative politics for a long time, but I never thought they'd be unable to produce a candidate who exhibited leadership. I didn't think Reagan was all that great, but at least he could take a clear, reasonable, position and articulate it - and then stick to it.
Who is there to come off the bench?
Cheers,
