We live in a world where facts and misinformation are both thrown at us at roughly the same volume, the evolution/creationism "debate" is just one example. The ability and desire to distinguish between these two is a strong sign of intelligence, in my opinion.

Creationism is wrong. That's not bashing on religion, or denigrating anyone. That's a fact. Not only is there no evidence of creationism anywhere, there's absolute proof that it didn't happen like the biblical story tells it.

Denigration doesn't mean, "say something that may hurt someone's feelings," it means to say something that's untrue and hurtful:
den·i·grate/ˈdeniˌgrāt/ Verb: Criticize unfairly; disparage: "there is a tendency to denigrate the poor".

Saying that the earth is round may be hurtful to flat-earthers, but it's true, and it's not denigration.

All of these non-exampes aside, I don't dispute that, outside of this thread, I've probably said some negative things about faith and religious belief in general. If that was what Xav was getting at, then absolutely, yes.

How does that make my lack of belief a religion?
