Atheists get all religious on religion.

Phew, I was worried no one would get what I was talking about. I was a little abstract there.

That last quote, he nowhere says that those with faith are idiots. He says that creationists are idiots, which is true. It's like saying Marines are cowards even though we have the evidence of their valor in dozens of wars. Sure, there are a few things that could use more explaining (pissing on dead bodies some would say, although I could care less considering who those dead fucks were), but by and large, Marines are not cowards. There is a significant body of evidence supporting evolution and that body grows larger every day. To ignore that blatant evidence in favor tales that have no factual evidence is the not only the height of arrogance but the height of willful ignorance. The strongest proponents of creationism are not the misled and uneducated masses who don't know better, they are smart people with an agenda to gain and hold onto power.

Creationism is wrong. That's not bashing on religion, or denigrating anyone. That's a fact. Not only is there no evidence of creationism anywhere, there's absolute proof that it didn't happen like the biblical story tells it.

Denigration doesn't mean, "say something that may hurt someone's feelings," it means to say something that's untrue and hurtful:
den·i·grate/ˈdeniˌgrāt/ Verb: Criticize unfairly; disparage: "there is a tendency to denigrate the poor".

Saying that the earth is round may be hurtful to flat-earthers, but it's true, and it's not denigration.

All of these non-exampes aside, I don't dispute that, outside of this thread, I've probably said some negative things about faith and religious belief in general. If that was what Xav was getting at, then absolutely, yes.

How does that make my lack of belief a religion?

Thats the definition. You dont think calling believers unintelligent is speaking ill of? belittleing? Try to twist it how you want by your guilty as hell by definition. However as i said to white i was planning on letting this slide by anyway because we all know what the outcome will be.

I'll take the blame for your misconception on what wicked said. I should have pulled duddys post as well because it defenitly losses something without what wicked was replying to.

Alright, by that definition, I'm denigrating people who can't differentiate between fact and fiction in that quote - not all believers, mind you. Either way, I just said in the last post that I've certainly done that, and I certainly hold that opinion.

Actually i would say that atheism fits a meaning of religion.

Atheism has faith there is no god. Im guessing that why when you have dog tags made in the service you can use atheist as your religion.
