Far from BS, granted simple legalization and taxation alone wouldn't solve the deficit but the overall benefits of hemp legalization would have the potential to put a massive dent in it and not to mention a new source of jobs.

He's still wrong. When you have small towns which have small police forces you have smaller crime rates and most of those will not be violent crimes. A few as examples.
Longwood Crime Statistics and Crime Data (Longwood, FL)
772 total crimes with 48 officers. Thats crimes 2.115 crimes a day for those 48 officers. It breaks down to .0440 per officer per day.
http://www.casselberry.org/documents...210/Annual.PDF
1082 total crimes with 52 officers. 2.964 crimes per day. It breaks down to .057 per officer per day.
I can give you more for florida but its a bit harder for other states due to not knowing the areas to look.
Orlando has 750 officers covering 18858 crimes last year. Thats 51.665 per day. It breaks down to .0688 per officer per day.
So as i said its a false argument and the following still applies.

Re: Marijuana rehash.
BS?
Maybe.
But I don't care. The national debt never gets "solved". It's not like eradicating polio, where once it's gone it's gone for good.
It's like eating right and working out, where every day you have to do it again. You don't get to solve it once and for all. You have to solve it every day.
So it's not about the end game. It's about better and worse.
That judge made some good points. In spirit, I've agreed with what he said for quite a while now. I won't say there aren't downsides, but I think that on balance the prohibition is the path of worse.
And we need better.
If a little bit of the money that's currently building private armies for an international narco-baron mafia gets diverted into state treasuries, I'd be ok with that too.
Cheers,

What good is that little bit of money when the government spends more then it can ever take in? LOL even better what good is when they haven't even been able to make a budget in 3 years? Its simply generating revenue to continue spending more then you take in with no accountability.
