I disagree with you fairly often, but that's a good point. I see the local picture of wherever I happen to be, and the national picture (through the huge distortion lens).

I used to live in a part of the south that people from other parts of the south would say wasn't REALLY the south - but there were good people there of all party loyalties. I knew Democrats who were openly embarrassed of a few recent scandals, and Republicans who were secretly embarrassed at some of their party's positions.

No but you have targeted repubs with your statements. Why is it you didn't voice your opinion when it was the other side of the coins speaking? I know i read the article on a different site then the links i will provide but the contents were the same.

I think those people are wrong, and I think that history will not be sympathetic when it looks back on them, but you have to admire that sort of organization and dedication.

Anyway, that's the challenge. Sometimes you win because you're right, but in this case (just like with slavery) you can only win by showing up with more people - voters, soldiers, whatever applies.

My point was more about government endorsement of discrimination. It's one thing when a part of the general population holds racist or homophobic views, it is another when those feelings are codified into law by representatives, mainly in states, who chose to represent only a portion of their constituents and not look out for the minority. That means the federal government has to step in and correct them, hence the kicking and screaming. So while I know that not everyone in NC and other states supported anti-gay marriage laws, but the fact of the matter is civil rights like that should NEVER be voted on by the general public.

Lol, one, your "two references" are the same damn article, and two, did you even read the names of the Democratic Senators that might disagree? Manchin, Tester, and McCaskill. In other words, conservative Democrats, and they aren't making a huge fuss about it nor were they voting to deny a judgeship to a gay person. But if you ever find something similar, I'm sure trigger, and myself, will definitely criticize them, too.

Did i not say i read the same article on a different site? Next time read it and no you wouldn't criticize them to. Been here watching you preach those bad repubs and the dems are our savior far to long to even thing thats would be true.

Really? I won't criticize them? I believe I've let the right-wing Democrats have it many times. To me, they are no better than the Republicans. Blue Dogs are really fucking terrible.
