now that I know that some of the brightest young minds in America are solving the REALLY important problems we face today. Global warming, global wars, global starvation, cancer, AIDS, addiction, etc all pale in comparison to...how to get the ketchup out of the bottle.

Supposedly we can now save tens of millions of dollars in wasted food cost. My question is how much extra does it cost the ketchup distributor in time, labor, and materials to coat the bottles, or how much extra would it cost to buy coated bottles? If the cost can't be passed on to the customer then does it really have any practical application? Heinz/Hunts/whomever doesn't give a crap how much condiment you throw away with the bottle as long as you buy another one.

Speaking of Which, I can't ever remember needing to store Ketchup in the Refrigerator, But apparently All bottles of ketchup must be Refrigerated after Opening. I'm pretty sure they did this because everyone opens the fridge first when looking for eats. Free advertising.
