05-26-12, 04:14 PM #1Fox News viewers know less then others (the national version)
Not sure if anyone remembers, but last year Fairleigh Dickinson University did a poll of New Jersey and found that people who watched Fox News did worse on answering questions correctly about current events then those who watched no news at all. Well this month they released a new poll they did, this time extending it nation wide. It followed the last results in that Fox News viewers do worse then those who watch no news at all. MSNBC viewers also do worse then no news at all.
I'll post the results, however when you break it down it gets a bit different. When liberals watch Fox News or conservatives watch MSNBC they do utterly awful at answer the questions. (.81 right and .86 right). When conservatives watch Fox News, it went up to 1.39 (better then CNN's general result), while Liberals watching MSNBC went up to 1.64.
That is just for International, they break it down for domestic as well. Of note, NPR listeners did the best and Daily Show viewers beat out MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News.
What you know depends on what you watch: People learn most from NPR, Sunday Morning Shows, The Daily Show; least from MSNBC, Fox News

Yes please explain, from what I read the study seemed to be unbaised. I don't know why but the majority of people from both the left and the right do the following: Instead of looking at the facts/circumstances and then coming to a conclusion, instead they already have their point of view hard coded in their mind, from that point they look for information that supports their way of thinking and ignore/downplay anything that challenges their point of view.
It seems to me that your not happy with with the results (maybe because you watch Fox News yourself) and are looking for a way to discredit the information that challenges your way of thinking.
If you want to challenge the validity of a study/poll, you need to point out a flaw in the way the study was conducted. Claiming that the poll is baised/not valid solely because of the results is in itself an invalid argument. So again, please explain.

Actually, I think DG doesn't watch really any news network (considers them all biased BS). I think his main point of contention is that a comedy show ranked so highly.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.
