Do we agree that McDonalds food is harmful to an individual and has no nutritional value?

    Re: Deadliest U.S. Corporations

I would argue that I could eat a regular McDonald's cheeseburger three times a day 7 days a week, and live a normal life. If however I were to eat a super-sized Big Mac value meal for each meal every day it is very harmful. Most of the things you point out are not necessarily bad based on the items themselves, but are bad when consumed in excess. I like to drink alcohol every now and then. I am sure even most doctors would agree that is not a problem. If however I were to drink a bottle of my liquor of choice every night then that would be a serious health risk.

So once again I ask who gets to decide where the line is drawn? I feel, and I am sure many others would agree, that outlawing alcohol all together is a failure of a plan, so what do we do? How do we enforce a law that you can only have 4 ounces of red meat per day, or 2 ounces of tequila? It is impossible. If we all agree to totally outlaw McDonald's then what about Burger King, Hardee's, Carl's Jr, et al. So we just agree to shut down all burger joints? So then what about burgers I make at home? Do we outlaw all ground beef? Do we outlaw all consumption of red meat? Do we also outlaw all fast food places that make tacos with ground beef?

I am asking you where you think the line is? Just McDonald's? I am sure they are the ONLY restaurant contributing to health problems in America/the world, right?

I didnīt isolate McDonalds as the only problem...you did...or dgod did...in fact Iīm not only talking about fast food restaurants...you guys are. They are not bad when consumed in excess; they are bad when consumed, period.

I would argue against your first point. If you eat something with no nutritional value, and in fact, elaborated and containing harmful ingredients, 3 times a day, 7 days a week...then you have a diet that is detrimental to your health. I guarantee you 100% that you will have health problems directly contributed to your poor diet.

Who gets to decide where the line is drawn? Well, policy makers whose sole responsibility should be to protect the interests of their citizens.

Have I ever said in this thread, shut down McDonalds? Donīt put words in my mouth...itīll give the readers the wrong idea and divert them from my actual arguments.

So what is your solution? Maybe you didn't directly say shut down McDonald's, but what is the alternative? Since tobacco has no nutritional value, and has many detrimental effects then I guess you do support outlawing all tobacco products? Same with alcohol? You are quick to say you are not in favor of doing away with one thing or another, but you want to do away with anything harmful, so what exactly are you wanting outlawed, and why?

As for letting politicians decide how many politicians are doctors or have the medical expertise to determine what should and shouldn't be allowed?

Well, who decides? Who decides what you can and cannot do, right now?

I do, for the most part, and I am quite happy with the freedoms I have, thank you for asking. I rarely eat McDonald's, but I am thankful that I have the freedom to do so when I choose.

And no, I never said shut down McDonalds...I said hold them liable for the poison they are serving...itīs not too much to ask....this particular business serves food...there should be a standard for what food these people serve...obligate these companies to serve proper meat....proper bread...proper chicken...something that actually HAS nutritional value and doesnīt in turn harm the person that consumes it...in moderation or excess alike. If they oblige, then they can stay in business.

Cigarettes I gotta say...have ABSOLUTELY no business being in business. Nothing you do to modify the product will make it beneficial to anyone, it will never have a positive impact on consumerīs health. It is just probably the worst, atrociously unhealthy product on this planet, consumption-wise.

You have never had good tacos!

Real tacos are not that bullshit with cilantro or lettuce! Call it TexMex, but San Antonio has the best tacos on the planet. I had some brought to me from SA and they were cold when they got here and still better than any restaurant I have found up here. Unhealthy as can be! Close down the deadly corporations but live my little hole in the walls alone!

If you close all the corporations on the list and there will still be a list of deadly corporations. There will all ways be a best/worst... Really pointless argument. I cant believe CAT made the list... Really? Oh yeah thats right cause deere dozers suck ass!

Policy makers tell you what you can or cannot consume, when and where you can consume it.
