Indiana legalizes shooting cops
Indiana legalizes shooting cops | _
Governor Mitch Daniels, a Republican, has authorized changes to a 2006 legislation that legalizes the use of deadly force on a public servant — including an officer of the law — in cases of “unlawful intrusion.”
this is both a good and bad change

Re: Indiana legalizes shooting cops
Hmm.. the bill of rights .. have something to say about unlawful intrusion.. but shooting a cop doing his job.. is not one of them..
This isn't right by no means.. If you kill a cop in uniform you need to serve some big jail time .. Theres no if's and's or but's about it.. This law is a very dangerous law to make .. that can have people target on duty cops.. and use this law as a backup to get out of jail...
Think of this way.. Man wanted for drug dealing.. his home is being raided by swat.. man brings out a gun and one or two cops and one bad guy is dead.. Then family accuses the officers for unlawful intrusion and sues the state for damages and loss of life.
Off duty cops not wearing uniform does unlawful intrusion this law could work out .. but if its on duty officer.. then you got a unknown boundary line on whats lawful and whats unlawful..

Re: Indiana legalizes shooting cops
My point exactly this law gives them all the more reason to go on the offensive and shoot back.. lawful or not .. If you watched a somewhat old show called Detriot Swat you could see one guy could lose his life if a guy was not right in the head and already kill a few people because of it and will just try to kill a cop..

Re: Indiana legalizes shooting cops
Sure they will.... if they were predisposed fucktards in the first place. I mean really, read this statement and tell me that defense would stick.
Officers in Indiana aren’t necessarily on the same page, though. “If I pull over a car and I walk up to it and the guy shoots me, he’s going to say, ‘Well, he was trying to illegally enter my property,’” Sergeant Joseph Hubbard tells Bloomberg. “Somebody is going get away with killing a cop because of this law.”
Actually, it seems to me that this law is motivation for police to have all their ducks in a row BEFORE engaging in searches of private property.

Re: Indiana legalizes shooting cops
Thats not a valid argument. If they are acting within the law its still illegal to shoot a cop. If one is acting outside the law then he put his life into someone elses hands that he backed into a corner. If someone was intent on shooting a cop or anyone else for that matter this law and every other law were irrelivant to begin with.
