Re: Well
I stopped on page one after reading the bulletpoints. (1) Strict adherence to the original intent of the declaration of independence (cause im sure we know EXACTLY what the founding fathers meant) and (6) Self-sufficient families, founded on the traditional marriage of a natural man and a natural woman. Cause there are no gay animals and men and women are so natural these days with all the preservatives and plastic surgery.
The repubs seem to be taking their cues from the supreme court, dont think progressively, dont change anything, be old and white.

Critical thinking. They oppose it. It apparently undermines parental authority.
Knowledge-Based Education – We oppose the teaching of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) (values clarification), critical thinking skills and similar programs that are simply a relabeling of Outcome-Based
Education (OBE) (mastery learning) which focus on behavior modification and have the purpose of challenging
the student’s fixed beliefs and undermining parental authority.
Judeo-Christian Nation – As America is a nation under God founded on Judeo-Christian principles, we affirm
the constitutional right of all individuals to worship in the religion of their choice.
Safeguarding Our Religious Liberties – We affirm that the public acknowledgement of God is undeniable in our
history and is vital to our freedom, prosperity and strength. We pledge our influence toward a return to the
original intent of the First Amendment and toward dispelling the myth of separation of church and state. We
urge the Legislature to increase the ability of faith-based institutions and other organizations to assist the
needy and to reduce regulation of such organizations.
You can also read what the Texas Republican Party writes about the SBOE. Then, you can go look at their support of Perry and his decisions.enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

And for the record, of the plethora of teachers that I know personally from the new teachers to the 30 year vets like my mom from atheist to staunch Christians, they oppose the Repub backed SBOE decisions on textbooks and curricula. They have to scream and shout to be heard, and the Repubs now want to take away their voices in government, even from the ones who would normally vote Republican.
It's just idiotic, and this pandering to the extreme right false-conservatives is what has ruined the Republican party not just in Texas but in the US as a whole.enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
