We all know how cell phone carriers fuck you in the ass, guess this guy got tired of getting jerked around. Kuddos to him.

You are about to watch one very ticked off T-Mobile customer. So ticked off — apparently because of a dispute over a refund — that he practically destroyed an entire store in Manchester, England. What's most remarkable about the video, filmed by disbelieving shoppers on Saturday, was how methodically he went about his business, ripping fittings and fixtures from the walls and spraying a fire extinguisher all over the place. Cops finally came to arrest him, but, as you'll hear in the video, some rebellious witnesses actually cheered him on.

Yeah...because destroying property is going to solve the issue.

Ok...you tell me what he gained? He's likely going to do jail time, and pay a fine, AND have to pay for the damage he caused.

You know nothing about me, so...I'd stop assuming.

He could've accomplished the same thing (venting his frustrations) by calling up customer service...WITHOUT GOING TO JAIL.

He also knew people were watching ...I hope the fifteen minutes of internet fame were worth it to him.

So, like I said in my original post, what he did accomplished nothing.

You need to give me the customer service numbers you call.

The ones I call do nothing to reduce my frustration. They only ever increase it. I have to fight a war against their spoiling tactics just to overcome the robots and talk to a person. But then that person is almost never a person endowed with power, authority, or knowledge. They have a script - a program - that they follow independently of any inputs on my part. None of their routines lead to functions where I get $Money or $SpecificPerformance.

This person is better than a robot in only one way: rather than a digitally synthesized voice, they have an analogue synthesizer (I think they call it a larynx) which produces a Real Human Voice (tm) - though it frequently does not have the LocalizedAccent module.

If you know the Escape Key Sequence, you can get past this human/robot cyborg too. In this third level of Hell, you get to talk to a human imbued with Higher Cognitive Function. This person has undergone intensive training that takes full advantage of these complex thought processes and allows them to calculate (in real time) a risk function that balances:

(a) the value of your time (which, by virtue of the fact that you are even still on the phone, is certainly low)

(b) the value of their time (which, even though they have reached the pinnacle of a career in Phone Answering, is also certainly low)

and:

(c) a probability function integrated across all possible appeasements and the likelihood that any of them will result in a check in the box marked "successful resolution".

(d) the cost of the various appeasements.

The risk function is tuned to minimize the cost of a check-mark in the box, maximize the chance that you will hang up, minimize the chance that you ever call back, and (most importantly) maximize the chance that you will keep giving these bastards money for the foreseeable future.


Seriously; I want your list of numbers to call.

... I mean, unless it's the meditation hotline or some prayer service.
