Re: Checkpoints Unlawful?
As far as I can tell, in any enforcement situation, the best way to make the job easier is by suspending or removing civil liberties. Your rights are a pain in the ass. It is always easier to do the job without having to worry about those.
Even the best intentioned law enforcement agency will eventually find that the liberties of citizens are inconvenient and annoying.
Tunnels suck. That's a hard problem to solve.
Illegally detaining people far from the border is a really bad solution. It's the obvious, and easy, and stupid way to do it.
The TSA and their broad variety of airport security theatre was the obvious, easy, and stupid response to 9/11.
We're being stupid. We're being manipulated.

Re: Checkpoints Unlawful?
So that Steven Anderson dude... the state appealed and he actually went to court and charges were dropped.
But... Now he just drives around to those checkpoints with the intent of fucking with the border patrol agents.
AND
his church is classified as a hate group.
He's actively, since 2009, prayed for the death of Obama.
And he believes and has preached that the government should kill all homosexuals.
Nice guy that one.
