Re: Colorado Movie Theater Shooting
simple caliber/bullet designed for hand guns would not be able to have an armor piercing projectile by law now if youd use something that took a rifle round like a FNH USA assuming it takes the same 5.7 as a rilfe that is might be a different story

Re: Colorado Movie Theater Shooting
That's pretty much what I was wondering about.
It feels like the answer to "how does that work?" is "not all that well".
Anyone else want to chime in? Though I have some book-learnin', I have very little (almost no) practical experience with handguns.

Re: Colorado Movie Theater Shooting
After some reading, its not very clear, I think the ATF interprets handgun ammo to be any ammo that a handgun has been manufactured for, even if it's not common in handguns.
Some AP rifle rounds are banned, some are not. It also depends on state laws for rifle ammo, they vary.Last edited by Jambi; 07-23-12 at 03:05 PM.
