Re: Just how lazy have people gotten?
Wow... At least with the segways people had to stand...
sigh...
I honestly don't know how people do not feel awkward as hell riding those (have to point out everyone in that video had awkward smiles on) or segways.
Maybe if it when 10x faster so i could just zoom by people but it looks to be having trouble just keeping up with slow walkers... Bicycles and skateboards are awkward enough trying to navigate through crowds (everyones seeing you stopping, thinking your gonna cut them off / run them over), let alone trying to pass people with a motorized scooter thats challenged to over take walkers even when on a full charge...
Seriously though, i'f that thing went 10x as fast, i'd be down for it just so i could be reading a book looking all fancy while zooming by people between classes or walking around the university (hey i go climbing 3-4 times a week (1-2 miles hike up a mountain, day of climbing and setting up anchors, then hiking back down); I get my exercise). But its so damn slow you'd just be so duchy riding that around, not to mention i bet it costs 2x as much as the segway. Which people worry about leaving their $8,000 segway outdoors for someone to steal when they have to enter buildings that are not segway friendly.
But hey, in terms of natural selection, let all the lazy folk have em and get out of shape. That way, if some kind of apocalypse hits and we need to run away from something (zombies, aliens, dinosaurs, lol), we have someone to run faster than (because apocalypse means no general utilities, which means no way for them to charge their lazy scooters which means they have to walk).
