Man I'm so confused. When did Obama leak any military intel to the press? I mean I saw something a while ago that said they blocked out cell phone signals, I think they cut the electricity and they used a stealth helicopter, but its not like that kind of stuff isn't in televison and movies or Tom Clancy novels, right? And if you were the president of the US and you made the order to take down Osama Bin Laden wouldn't you use that in your campaign? I don't see Obama taking presonal responsibility for Bin Ladens death, but praising those who did.

I would also imagine that having your enemy find out what your tactics are would force you to change them and make them better. Not that I agree in any way/shape/form with telling someone how/when/where you're going to kill them.

I think your jumping the gun just a bit. The pres isn't the only one that knows whats going on. Any number of people could leak information up to and including those special ops personel. No one here is saying leaking information is a good thing. They are simply saying from what i see the speech the pres gave did not leak any info. Which it didn't.

I don't think anyone is saying the President himself leaked it. It is however clear that the leaks came from White House sources. The buck there stops with the President. I would have more respect for him if he simply said "I won't tolerate this and anyone in my administration who does it will be tried on charges of Treason", or something like that. That is the wntire point. These people who work for the Preside are not doing this in a vacuum, the President knows what they are doing, even if he didn't do it himself. When Vice President Cheney leaked one name, the entire liberal media came crashing down on him and they made a freaking movie about it. The double standard here is appalling.

This comment really made me angry. Outrage is a good word for what I feel about this. I've thought my response through and I thought for a while about being a bit more civil in my response, but... Vin, for example, for just the Bin Laden raid - the White House leaked details out like how many men were involved in the raid, how and where they got the intel on Bin Laden, which specific team was involved in the takedown operation, how the order was given, some of the CQB tactics that were used, what sort of intel was captured (computer files, etc.) and more.

And they also gave access to more intel to hollywood moviemakers directly to help them make a film about the raid.

Back when the Tom Clancy movies were done, Clancy got a lot of heat at times for what he wrote in his books because it was so accurate. But the white house wasn't calling him in to brief him on it so he would make them look good!
