Empire State Building Shootings
A criminal only has to be successful once. That can happen anywhere. The "it'll never happen to me" mentality is spoken like a true sheep. That's ok. If I happen to be around when you are in danger, I'll take care of it. I train for that scenario pretty regularly.
The difference between the U.S. and some other country when it comes to these gangs you are referring to who would get their revenge is not that those criminals don't exist here, because they do. It's that they know that Americans are a different breed where that is concerned. They will say "fuck it, let's roll", if they have to. It goes all the way back to the American Revolution, when we defeated possibly the best army in the world with shit weapons and less men. That attitude is a part of our heritage an it's why we keep and bear arms. Not just because we can. We still have sheep in the US. But criminals here know they will probably be in for a fight for their life if they try to carjack someone, etc. 911 was a wake up call for many here on just how far we had gotten from those original roots. I doubt a guy with a box cutter could do that again.Hitch liked this post

Re: Empire State Building Shootings
It´s not an "it´ll never happen to me mentality" it´s a "if it happens to me, I know from experience and from knowing of friends and acquaintances that have been shot and killed, that carrying a gun is far more dangerous for me than not carrying one."
Try to portray me as a pussy all you want. How many people have you killed? Does that make you more of a man than me? Does carrying a gun makes you more of a man than me? I´m not going to comment on personal experiences or how much more balls I´ve got than you because this and this happened to me and I did this and that.
Not carrying a gun is the smart thing to do down here, given the plethora of cases where the ´macho´ man decides to pull a gun out on a criminal. Criminals down here don´t work alone either. This is how they work: 1 guy approaches your car, tells you to get out or move over....4 guys are behind him packin uzi´s and ak47´s riding a couple of motorcycles behind my car If I decide to shoot and kill the guy that´s jacking me, the guys in motorcycles will move up and spray the SHIT out of me and whoever´s in my car
Keep living in your fantasy, mythical, paranoiac world.
The difference between the U.S. and Honduras is that people kill with impunity here. The U.S. has a working legal system and a close to non corrupt police force that will enforce such laws. The difference down here is that the police force is 99% corrupt and the legal system is non existent; there are no consequences for one´s actions. That is why criminals walk around in broad daylight killing and drug smuggling and kidnapping and ______ . That is why one needs to bribe government officials and police officers daily. It´s how the U.S. was in the 1920´s (you know, gang wars, extorsion, drug smuggling). It´s how Colombia was in the 1980´s. It´s how Mexico is right now.

Empire State Building Shootings
I'm sorry Xava, I'm not calling you a pussy. I am sure you are a wonderful man with a lot of great qualities worth talking about. Not my point at all. I called you a sheep. Sheep are good and have their place in the world. Their calling is different than sheepdogs, or for that matter, wolves. Nothing wrong with being a sheep. Read this to understand my reference:
http://killology.com/sheep_dog.htm
I just want sheep to understand what they are and have respect for the sheepdog.
By the way, I would never talk about any kind of action I've seen carelessly or to brag. In my experience, people who make those claims are usually lying about it anyway. Real warriors usually exercise discretion where that sort f thing is concerned.
I think you need to go out and watch a few real life security videos of unprepared people fighting for their lives and losing the fight to understand why I and others like me train. It's not about being Rambo or macho or bragging. It's about being prepared.

Re: Empire State Building Shootings
Prepared for what? This is the delusion and paranoia I´ve been talking about. Stop being so delusional, you´re not a sheepdog or a wolf or a coyote or whatever animal or rodent you think you are. You wake up, go to work, go to Walmart, buy some McDonald´s and go to sleep. You speak like your life is on the line every time you step out of the door of your trailer or something. You live in one of the most safest environments in the world. Stop being delusional. Please don´t take credit from people (active duty policemen and soldiers) that actually put their lives on the line so you can stuff your face with beer n´wings every peaceful weekend in Frisco, Texas. And please stop talking like Frisco, Texas is as dangerous as Fallujah, Iraq.

Just to respond to someone who asked probably 8 pages ago I asked my nephew how often FWPD has to go to the range, and he said every 6 months. Yes, many go more often, but that is the requirement.
Oh, and Xav, shit goes down in Frisco, be advised.
As for me, in my current and last profession I am/was told where to go. Sometimes that where does include places that I would not venture by choice. When I go I do have self protection, but most of the time I don't carry.

What I do find somewhat amusing is when people ask in one topic why violent crime is so prevalent in America, then in another act like people are "scared" for utilizing a tool that may prevent them, or someone else around them, from being a victim of the "prevalent" violent crime. Pick a side already.
