For example in the arts and philosophy, the term "theoretical" may be used to describe ideas and empirical phenomena which are not easily measurable.

Oh, you were talking about using the definition that can be applied to arts and philosophy? Hell, even that definition doesn't apply to Creationism. Yeah, that totally sounds more plausible than the explanation that you were just speaking from ignorance, got called out on it, and are now embarrassed.

This hinders, or outright prevents, any conversation from being productive. I guess I sort of appreciate you letting me know that you don't consider me capable of civil conversation, and that you don't respect my viewpoints enough to address them head-on. It's an odd sort of contempt.
