It scares me how much influence The Daily Show has on my generation. It's often funny and occasionally equal opportunity, but it also uses oversimplified logic for the sake of a joke. Not a problem until people use it as their talking point source, which they do.

Idk, I feel if The Daily Show or The Colbert Report makes a good point someone can use that idea/theme to express their idea.

Soviet watched it, but not the original. He saw the vid as excerpted on The Daily Show. I recognized the reference. I wasn't sure you had.

Maybe what's really going on is that I wanted to play games Friday and Saturday night but had social commitments that I didn't want to keep. Last night I noticed that the TPG server I wanted to be on was rocking, and I had to have boring conversation instead.

    I had de-caf coffee and a slice of pie. I wanted a six-pack of beer and a frag-fest.

    Damnit.

    Cheers,

It's cool. We all have those nights. No worries.

How about you think about the fact that is a comedy show, and the line was funny. Vote independent, you never win but always get to laugh at everyone who loses.

Yeah? And? So because YOU interpreted something one way, from some obscure reference in a video that even Soviet himself said he didn't watch, I'm supposed to take it in context?
Get the the transcript, I said it watched from the begining. I caught it on Stewart, who edited down to a single freak out line by Rove and the are you BSing your self from Kelly.

It is, but it also doesn't mean everyone who watches it buys into it. The "context" should include Late night with Jimmy Kimmel where both John and Colbert said "if your son listens to my show for poltical advise he shouldn't vote. Infact, do you let him drive?"

Why? Its viewers are among the most well-informed demographics. I mean, it's no NPR, but what is?

I'm glad you edited this part, because your first response was nothing short of idiotic. I'll let it go since it seems you did.

Not sure what you're trying to say here. Doesn't make much sense.

Anyway. Look, if you want to make an inflammatory remark and insult a group of people by quoting something from a show, then at least do a better job of saying that it didn't come from you. It's not hard.

It seems to me that that almost everyone else in this forum understood that he was quoting the Fox News announcer. You misunderstood, and that's ok, but it's not Soviet's fault.

    Another infinite loop?

It's like there's no escaping this routine.
