Look at the flip side, less fat people.
From the article:
Because the company is privately held, its financials were not available. But has struggled for several years, with some blaming America’s increasing appetite for healthier fare.
Why won't they post financials to show what's going on?
And the last part kind of backs up my previous point.

I would bet just more people eating Little Debbies and Bimbo Bakery products. I just think they should be proud of not giving in to the 8% pay cut. They clearly won that battle.

Agreed and the bill should include a removal of all hover round type carts. Fat lazy fucks always seem to find the damn electric carts at the store. It shouls also have a section placing red parking at the back of the parking lot for fat people. God damn it if you gonna ride in an electric cart at least burn a few calories getting into the store.

As far as I'm concerned, the workers probably had the right side. As the union mentioned, Hostess had 7 CEOs in 10 years. They were also in a bankruptcy restructuring. Sometimes it's better to just bite the bullet and have a company in trouble close down. It sucks for the employees, but the brands look like they'll be sold off so they might be able to find employment with other snack food companies.

Re: A victory for union workers everywhere.
Not having to post financials is one of the BIG advantages of being privately held. Especially now since they are going to have to liquidate. The bankruptcy judge does, however, have access to the financials. He/she rules on all the proceedings and deals between creditors and the company.
As per the Teamsters statement, the judge had stated there was NO better deal, contrary to what the Bakers union told it's membership.
