Thread: Widespread Flu within the U.S.

Note, not a "omg! we gonna die!" type thread, just more or less figured it was good information to be known (not even sure what there is to discuss, other then flu shots).

ILI is Influenza like illness by the way. They have more stats in the link for anyone curious. The other reported a fair bit is that 41 states have reported widespread flu activity while I think the other 8 were regional activity.

Also found it interesting that all of the strains confirmed so far were included in the flu shot. I know they aren't 100% and there is (as far as I know) no evidence if the people with confirmed cases had a flu shot or not, but just found it interesting as a person who never gets one.

Lastly, again more less because it is interesting and less because it means shit all, BBC had a link to this page about the H3N2 strain (Is it strains? or another word?), which according to CDC was last updated on November 30th:

Just interesting to see how over the course of a month, it can change from something that will only infect a very specific set of people, to seemingly spreading like crazy in urban areas.

Not surprised, my first five days of this year consisted of being stuck in bed with the flu, and absolutely hating it. Was pretty sure some random chick at the party I went to gave it to me, because I discovered about halfway through the night there was a chick that had been accidentally drinking out of my sodas when I wasn't looking.

Over it for the most part now, but I still have a cough and my voice is still fucked up from the coughing.
