If the word of god is dont do something does that not make it a sin? No i dont think the passage is meant to make people into slaves. My response was to laz saying it isnt a sin to own slaves.

Fair point. But I also said I couldn't remember a place in the Bible that said owning slaves was a sin either. And it was in reference to when someone said, and I'm paraphrasing, 'slavery was a sin, and we outgrew it, so why can't homosexuality be a sin we outgrow'?

Slavery was always a touchy subject in the old testament. To my knowledge, it was no longer an acceptable practice by the early church, but homosexuality was directly condemned in the new testament. The whole BC/AD change over changed a lot of things.
