I will add to that with a I am sorry but isn't the Anti-Christ supposed to be universally loved by almost everybody. That alone pretty much squashes that theory lol. I wouldn't put much stock in that prophecy anyways. In my opinion it's a device used by the churches to keep you faithful because hey look this could happen to you and because you don't believe you will left on Earth to suffer Satan's wrath muahahahaha. That's what it sounds like to me at least. I know others believe differently so I hope I didn't ruffle any feathers by expressing my view on the matter.

At any rate the New World Order theory is hard to ignore at this point.

My default reaction when meeting people like that is to ask questions - not to try and trip them up with earthly logic (though it often seems like that wouldn't be too hard), but because I'm genuinely curious.

So, for example, isn't it possible that The Deceiver wouldn't be so easy to spot? I mean... we're talking about God-like (or at least demi-god-like) powers of deception.

But whatever. Like I said, I'm not close with anyone like that. I can't really speak to it.

Not really. According to Revelations, the Antichrist is an actual person. He is supposed to come to power around the time of the rapture, form a world government that he will lead, and eventually be killed. Previous to that killing he's essentially a man who sold his soul to Satan, but afterwards he becomes "indwelt" by Satan and rises from the dead.

I'd like to offer thanks to the Left Behind book series for my knowledge of the rapture and Antichrist, which while it has a premise I just can't agree with, is actually a pretty good piece of writing (though I skipped out at the end of the series during the Millennium reign of Jesus, since to me stories have to have some sort of conflict to be interesting, rather than all peace and hugging and shit lol). While it's billed as a religious fiction book, it's actually well written and most of the volumes were fun to read.

FYI... there isn't actually any Biblical evidence there will be a "rapture". That's a doctrinal idea that not every church holds. However, there is strong supportive evidence there could be one. Most Christians don't care either way.

The only verse that even comes close to suggesting a "rapture event" is Mark 13:32 -

No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

But that could mean the "rapture" or it could be the "Second Coming", which are two different things. There are a few doctrinal ideas that suggest there could be a rapture, most notably, the fact that prior to every judgement event in the Bible, God always spared the righteous; Noah (Flood), Lot (Sodom and Gomorrah), Plagues in Egypt, etc. But once again, that's a stretch.

I personally don't think there will be a rapture. Don't get me wrong, I hope there is one. Either way, if you ever hear someone say, "I've figured out the day God will return!", they are idiots and have no idea what "NO ONE KNOWS..." means.
