    No increases in taxes.

Obama Proposes Cigarette Tax Hike In Budget Plan

I mean that is what he said when he ran for office was it not? Then he put a 1 dollar tax on cigarettes to pay for obamacare. Which if im not mistaken is a new tax. Now he needs another tax on cigarettes to offset government spending? How about limiting the spending instead of raping people of their pay checks to pay for people who cant balance a damn check book. Carter was a better president then this clown.

Just quit, I know it'll hard, but it'll be better for you in the long run anyway. I noticed that Malboro's here are like $5.10 a pack and Winston's are $5.25

While I agree with you, that's not the point.

When it comes to raising taxes versus cutting ridiculous amounts of spending, he's basically chosen to pull money out of the people's pockets instead of his own.

Funny how everyone bitches at the big bad cigarette companies for taking advantage of addicted consumers with their prices, but when the government decides to do the same, smokers all of a sudden should "just quit". Can't have it both ways.

It's not even about the cigs for me (as I don't smoke), but again, you can only increase taxes for so long until you realize that it's your irresponsible spending that is the issue...not lack of tax revenue.

When I get to the point where I'm over my spending budget every month, I find things to cut, not work an extra 20 hours a week instead.

No, he should take it out of his own pocket. However, it'd be a good time to quit. Also, I agree, you can only raise taxes so much until something snaps.

Why is it people are pushing so hard for smokers to quit and 9 times out of 10 those same people push for weed to be legal?

I don't think weed should be legal either, though.
