Re: the rich the disabled and disney
That only works until you bitch slap someone with that kind of attitude. I was on a job not to long ago at a hospital when some douche comes up making demands. I tell him to call the shop because i get paid for everything i do and all of it would require a change order. He says "Do you know who i am?". To which i responded "Do you know who i am?" When the blank look reared its head i said "See what a stupid question that is?" and walked away. Worse thing you can do to someone with that mentality is show them how unimportant they really are. From then on he asked instead of trying to tell.
As it turns out he owns the hospital, I guess he changed his methods across the board because i got a thanks from the construction company and a written letter of appreciation submitted to the company i sub at for knocking him down a few pegs. Of course the letter was towards the job i did but in reality the only thing i did was hang base.

Re: the rich the disabled and disney
How did my name get into this?!? lol.
Wait so let me get this straight... They are saying that this company would arrange special Disney trips for people with special needs... And for those disabled people who had no ability to pay for their trip themselves, the company would match up disabled people with families who were basically willing to pay for the disabled people's entire trip? And now they don't do that anymore because of the press mis-characterizing that program?
Wow that sucks balls.

Re: the rich the disabled and disney
And why is that? How?
Some might say it isn't the rich who are the problem. Maybe it's the whiny fucks who do nothing but stick their hands out waiting for someone to give them shit. Maybe the problems lie with the people who can't support themselves, yet still bring children into their mess.
Maybe an asshole is an asshole, regardless of income. I know I can live with people being pricks if they are doing so on their own dime. I would also be one of those pricks with the VIP pass. I wouldn't take a week off of work to fly across the country to stand in line, so the extra expense would be worth it to me.

Re: the rich the disabled and disney
As far i can see its purely a win for every one involved. You get to go ahead of people in line and someone that cant afford to go gets a free vacation. This doesnt rank very high on my give a fuck list. Most parks are beginning to get away from it the handicap thing anyway. As the rep at disney told me "We have wheel chairs and fast pass tickets so the disabled jumping to the front just because they are disabled is going away". I believe he said disney in california already did away with it.

Mountain Brook, Alabama - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The small city of around 21,000 that I live in has been listed as one of the wealthiest cities in America. With a median income of just over $100,000 per year per household and $150,000 per family. The richest of the rich live here. I only say this to make it clear that I am around people with a ton of money all the time. Assholes are assholes regardless of their financial state. Are their some rich assholes around me, sure but for the most part we are a very friendly area. People regularly comment on how nice everyone is to them and the people I am talking about are the people that work in our grocery stores, gas stations and restaurants but do not live in our city. I can tell you I have seen plenty of poor assholes and middle class assholes but they do not seem any more or less frequent than the rich assholes.
People trade money for all sorts of things. Food, shelter, cars and convenience are all examples. There have been plenty of times I have paid more for something so that I did not have to wait on it. The simplest form that I can think of is shipping methods. Ground is $8, two day is $23 and next day is $64. The rich asshole may pay $64 shipping on a $20 item because he wants it tomorrow instead of Friday. Arguing over who gets to ride on space mountain first based on what they pay to ride the fucking ride is ridiculous. If I am willing to drop $10,000 on a ticket to a them park to not stand in lines at all and have mickey mouse ride every single thing singing that God forsaken song then so what.
It aggravates the piss out of me how some people want to make people with money out to be some sort of evil person. I think my aggravation increases when the ones living off the system paid for in large part by the rich do it when instead a thank you may be more in order. I can say with a clear mind that I will absolutely pay more into the SSI system then I will ever get back. If someone is opposite of that maybe they need to be a little less judgmental and appreciative.-Lazarus- liked this post
