Because you dont wait till after its spent to show displeasure in the idea. Plus they've already taken their fair share of trips showing this cost is plausible.

By your own link posted Clinton spent 42 million on his trip there. Adding the additional safety precautions Obama will use the number makes sense. Lack of verification on the number doesn't rule out precedent.

Oh and Clinton spent 10 days there where Obama may be adding 2 to 3 other countries to his trip.

Just to be clear im less concerned with vacation time then i am with vacation time outside the country where costs go up exponentially. If they want to go home for a week here and there or to the mountains, beach, whatever who gives a shit.

The situation we are in implies more scrutiny be used. We have soldiers not getting paid here and there, we have federal employees being given unpaid vacations, we have a down economy, the highest debt this country has seen most of which due to this particular president, they have been taking extravagant trips all over the globe, take your pick on why his trips are being singled out. It wasn't that long ago your side of the table was complaining about Bush going to camp david and the ranch in texas. So is he really being singled out? Or is it same topic new person?

He wanted the job its time to show hes serious about it.

Yeah but we didnt have a thread for it. I find all these wasted spending quite annoying. Take your vacations inside the country and hold the extravagant ones for after you've left office so its not on or dime or pay for them yourself while in office. Either way works for me.
