But you could have started one yourself.

I guess it never really bothered you that much until now.

I think you're missing my point. I'm not saying it costs X. I'm saying the phenomenal costs of the POTUS travelling are mostly justified expenses.

I'm sure there will be. I found accounting for a similar trip in 1998, if some math is done in today's money I think we could arrive at a reasonable estimate. Keep in mind though "The executive branch does not have a single system to account for the cost of presidential travel overseas, and the agencies involved use a variety of
means to account for expenses." White House officials stated that this
was the most extensive trip by an American President to the African
    continent. http://www.gao.gov/archive/1999/ns99164.pdf

The problem I have with the whole travel bs is with nations around the world adopting austerity measures it's kinda like a slap in the face to those that ultimately suffer for said austerity. I'm not denying that the occasional face to face isn't necessary but with today's technology why is so much travel required. I am surprised non of noticed that we put 4500 troops at the Jordanian/Syrian border under the guise of a war game. Who wants to guess what's next?

Seems like a reasonable question, relevant to the topic currently being discussed...

Why is the logic around usually two wrongs make a right? Why is that the most common defense of Obama? Wasn't he elected to stop the insanity?

No, he was re-elected because the majority of Americans want Obamacare.
