Re: Voter Id law ID'd as alien.
This is a poor analogy.
Speeding is a safety issue. There are no negative consequences to having speed limits. There are, however, with voter ID laws which the Supreme Court has recognized. Secondly, your poor analogy attempts to infer that voter fraud is an issue by using 20% of drivers speeding as a comparison. You should have used 1/1000 of 1 percent but that wouldn't have helped your analogy anyways.

I guess I am a bit fuzzy on the whole good/bad thing. Even if it's addressing a small problem, where is the harm in verifying citizenship in order to register to vote? It doesn't seem complicated to me. Perhaps I am missing something?

And why would non-us citizens be voting? It defies logic.
Have you ever had the urge to vote in German elections Gumby?WickedTribe liked this post

The instances where people get caught show there is a problem. No fix is perfect. Thats a disingenuous argument to even attempt to make.
Im going to add an example. Most shoplifters dont get caught yet stores spend millions every year on security. The only way to quantify the amount of theft is p&l's. We cant do that with voting but there can be a very real loss applied if those votes are putting people in offices that are willing to keep ignoring the issue and putting programs in place or increasing programs that is readily being taken advantage of by people that have no right to vote.Last edited by deathgodusmc; 06-19-13 at 08:36 AM.
