Thread: Voter Id law ID'd as alien.

I could really care less either way about this particular law, but I do have one question about voter fraud statistics. If we had accurate numbers on how many people vote that shouldn't wouldn't that number then be ZERO? I mean if we know someone was voting that legally shouldn't we wouldn't let them vote to begin with, right?

Speeding is a safety issue. There are no negative consequences to having speed limits. There are, however, with voter ID laws which the Supreme Court has recognized. You blatantly ignored the point in the comment I made, which was that MANY more people commit the crime of speeding than are caught or punished for it. Probably 80 to 90% of people speed. Yet only 20% of people are ticketed each year for speeding. So the question is, should we look at preventing the behavior because it is clearly the right thing to do, or should we look at the number of people caught speeding and make a useless link between the people caught doing it and how many people are actually doing it?

Your assertion that simply asking someone to prove they are who they say they are in order to vote is racist or that it disenfranchises them is political propaganda, pure and simple, which you are happy to repeat over and over to the point of it being mantra, with no real evidence that anyone is disenfranchised by it except for some anecdotal bullshit.

Then, if someone says that we need to verify someone's ID so we know they are the person registered, you will try as you have in the past to say that this is voter registration fraud and not voter fraud. When in fact the two are inextricably linked.

You typically have to show an ID to buy a pack of cigarettes or a six pack of beer. To cash a check. To drive a car. To get a bus pass. To apply for a loan or credit. To get a welfare check. And myriad other things. Asking to show ID proving you are who you say you are to vote is not violation of anyone's rights.

Here's the bottom line. The only good and logical reason to actively prevent people from properly identifying themselves and prove that they are who their voter registration card says they are in order to vote is to commit fraud. Of course we haven't caught that many people trying to vote illegally; because we aren't even trying to catch them.

There's no reason not to require one of these forms of ID to vote. I mean shit man, if we're serious about getting homeless people jobs then it stands to reason that we should make it easy for them to get these forms of ID too right? Guess what? It IS easy. Not to go into too much detail but my son has been homeless for a couple of years. He has had a couple of jobs, and he got a driver's license during that time, no problem. He even put in a change of address for the homeless shelter where he lives right now.

Conservatives are interested in what everyone should be, and that's fair elections that aren't rigged using illegals who are paid to vote. Are you interested in that? I certainly hope so. You do realize that people have to be registered in order to vote, right? OMG, where do they get their voter registration card mailed to?!?!? Give me a fucking break.

This is also displayed in another AZ law that makes it illegal to Hire Illegals, Yet the Law is never used to convict Businesses, but thoroughly used to convict Employees. Another Point is if there was NO demand for Illegal workers then there would be no illegal workers am I right? Of course I am. Thus your Argument is Invalidated! HA!
